The Planetshakers movement that birthed Planetshakers City Church in 2004, the fastest growing church in Australian history, made its debut on FOX News Channel's "Huckabee" show this past Saturday. Former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee, interviewed founders and senior pastors of the church, Russell and Sam Evans, Jan. 12 in New York City. The show, which aired multiple times this past weekend, highlighted Planetshakers' first U.S. conference that begins this Thursday at The Rock Church in San Diego, CA.
"Planetshakers is a rapidly growing youth ministry from Australia and it's getting a worldwide following," says Huckabee, America's most popular weekend cable news TV show host. "It inspires young people to turn off video games, get off the couch and focus on a greater cause. Their worship experience look more like rock concerts, but they are very effective in spreading God's message to thousands."
During the interview, Huckabee asks, "Russell, you said back in 2008 that we need a generation consumed by God's presence. Get off the Xbox 360 and the PlayStations. Get off the couch. That's a pretty provocative message to go out there and say to young people, isn't it?"
In his response, Pastor Russell says, "If we can get young people having a vision for their life, and getting young people not just consumed with a box that gets them into a fantasyland, but take them into a place where they can be in community, to make a difference in their schools, in their universities, go on missions trips, be a part of churches and other groups, then they will start living beyond themselves and not living a selfish existence, but live an existence that is greater."

Following their Huckabee appearance, Russell and Sam Evans will bring their vision and message to the Planetshakers Limitless Conference in San Diego (Jan. 17-19). The conference will also include compelling messages from speakers Chris Hill, Ben Prescott, Miles McPherson and Sergio De La Mora, as well as worship music by Planetshakers Band. To register for the conference, or for the schedule and other event details, go to www.planetshakers.com/sandiego.
For those from around the world that are not able to travel to San Diego, the conference wil offer a live, two-part webcast/webinar Friday night, Jan. 18, beginning at 6:30 pm PST. Numerous churches representing countries on every continent around the world have already committed to watch the webcast as congregations. The free event will be streamed worldwide on WorshipStream's platform, and can be watched at http://bit.ly/PSLIVE, with additional outlets like www.RevTV.com also webcasting the event.
As they prepare for the Planetshakers Limitless Conference, Planetshakers Band releases tomorrow its critically acclaimed and 25th album, Limitless, via Integrity Music. The recording features the driving title song that is gathering radio airplay across the nation at stations like WHMX (Bangor, ME), KADI (Springfield, MO) and KNMI (Farmington, NM). "Limitless" has also become the first music video from the recording, which has already been seen by over 171,000 people at www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxWzfiKguFw (www.youtube.com/user/planetshakerstv).
"Planetshakers are back to engender seismic activity, with prayer, proclamation, adoration, and unbridled worship and praise," says Worship Leader magazine. "Limitless encompasses an array of genres, moods, tempos and dynamic range - within and between songs." "Packed with songs describing characteristics of our Great God, Limitless is a vibrant, active, reverent album that will get your heart pumping and your body jumping," says niNe Magazine.
